Privacy policy

In short

Luz Diária does not ask you to sign up, shows no ads and does not sell data. We only measure visits if you click "Accept" in the cookie notice, and you can change your mind at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

Who is responsible

The party responsible for processing your data (the controller) is Pitaya Comunicação Ltda., a Brazilian company (CNPJ 30.322.985/0001-32) that owns the website luzdiaria.app. Lucas Orsolini runs the project on the company’s behalf. For any privacy matter, including requests about your data, write to hello@luzdiaria.app. This is our channel for data subject requests.

What data we process and why

Audience measurement, only with your consent. We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to learn which prayers are read and in which languages. It records the pages visited, the prayer, language and category, the type of device and browser, the approximate country and region, the site you came from and whether the app was installed. A cookie with a random identifier (_ga) lets us count repeat visits. Google receives your IP address to provide the service, but Google Analytics 4 does not store it. Advertising features are switched off.

Running and securing the site. Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. To do so, and to protect it from attacks, it processes technical data from each request, such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser. The technical logs we can access are kept for a few days.

Contact by email. If you write to us, we receive your address and whatever you send, and use it only to reply.

What stays on your device

Some choices are stored in your own browser and are never sent to us: your answer to the cookie notice (ld-consent), the light or dark theme (ld-theme) and whether the install invitation has already been shown during this visit (ld-install-seen). The app also keeps a copy of the pages you opened on your device so they work offline. Because they serve features you use yourself, these items do not require consent. You can delete them by clearing the site data in your browser settings.

Faith and sensitive data

Reading prayer pages may suggest a religious belief, and the law treats religious beliefs as sensitive data. That is why measurement only happens with your explicit consent, is never linked to your name or email, is not used for advertising, and we only look at aggregated reports.

Legal bases

Audience measurement: your consent (GDPR, Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a); Brazil’s LGPD, Articles 7(I) and 11(I)).

Running and securing the site, and replying to emails: our legitimate interest in keeping the site online and protected and in answering people who contact us (GDPR, Article 6(1)(f); LGPD, Article 7(IX)).

Who we share data with

Data is processed by providers acting on our behalf: Google (Analytics and Tag Manager), Cloudflare (hosting and security) and our email provider. We do not sell or rent data and do not share it for advertising. We only hand it to authorities when the law or a court order requires it.

International transfers

Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries. These transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual clauses and, for visitors from the European Economic Area, also on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, in which both companies participate (GDPR, Articles 45 and 46; LGPD, Article 33).

How long we keep data

Measurement data: 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted automatically. The _ga cookie expires after up to 2 years, or sooner if you withdraw consent. Technical logs: a few days. Emails: as long as needed to resolve the matter, or until you ask us to delete them.

Your rights

You can ask us to confirm whether we process your data, and to access, correct, anonymise, restrict or erase it, to port it, to tell you who we share it with, and to withdraw your consent. You can also object to processing (GDPR, Articles 15 to 21; LGPD, Article 18).

Write to hello@luzdiaria.app. We reply within 15 days. Because we do not ask for your name or email, we usually cannot link measurement data to a person; if needed, we will explain how to find the cookie identifier in your browser.

You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of the country where you live, or with Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).

How to change your choice

Click "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page and choose again. If you decline after having accepted, measurement stops and the Google Analytics cookies are deleted from this browser.

Children and teenagers

The site is open to everyone and requires no sign-up. Children under 12, or under the age of digital consent in their country, should only accept measurement with permission from a parent or guardian.

Security

The site only works over HTTPS, collects the minimum necessary, and access to the measurement and hosting accounts is restricted. If a security incident could put you at risk, we will notify the competent authority and the people affected, as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

When the site starts offering accounts, a subscription or notifications, this policy will be updated beforehand to explain the new data. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
